How to create a custom export
Step 1: Go to Reports
Open Reports in Tatango. From there, select the Custom Export option
Step 2: Choose a dataset
Select the dataset you want to export depending on your use case.
Step 3: Choose the list
Select the list you want to export from.
This tells Tatango which subscriber set the report should use.
Step 4: Select fields
Choose which fields you want included in your export.
These fields determine what data will show up in your final report.
You’ll see a list of available fields (some are pre-selected by default)
Use the checkboxes to add or remove fields
You can also use the search bar to quickly find specific fields
Step 5: Filters and Sorting
Apply filters to narrow down your data
Filters are optional, skip this step to include all data but if you want a very speicif report you can add one or multiple conditions to suit your needs.
For example, you may want to filter by:
Tags
Specific subscriber attributes
Other available criteria in the report builder
This is helpful when you only want a certain segment instead of the full list.
Add sorting to control how your data is organized in the report
This is one of the most important steps, because it determines what data your final file will contain. Only include the fields you actually need. This keeps the export cleaner and easier to use.
Step 6: Select Date Range
Choose how often the report should run (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Run Now)
Select a frequency if you want the report to run automatically and be delivered to your preferred destination
Choose Run Now for a one-time export
Step 8: Review your setup
Before running the export, review:
The selected list
Subscriber status
Date range
Filters
Included fields
This is a good time to double-check that the report is set up the way you expect.
Step 9: Run the export
Click Save and Schedule or Run Now to generate the export.
You can view all your reports in the Activity Logs page.
Step 10: Download the file
Once the report is ready, download it.
You can also go back later and find it in Activity Logs if needed. Here's the help article for Activity Logs and Destinations.
