ActiveCampaign Integration

Follow these steps to enable ActiveCampaign integration

You will need to setup the integration in both Tatango and ActiveCampaign.


Tatango Steps

  1. Log in to your Tatango account

  2. Navigate to My Account -> API

  3. Create new API key labeled ‘ActiveCampaign’

  4. Copy the key out and set it aside, you’ll need it in the next steps

ActiveCampaign Steps

  1. Log in to ActiveCampaign

  2. Navigate to Automations

  3. Create a new automation by clicking the button in the upper right hand corner

  4. Once your automation is created, search for Tatango in Actions on the right hand-side

  5. Select either the SMS or MMS option and add it to your automation

  6. When prompted to connect an account, enter your email address & the API key you created earlier

Sending SMS

  1. Once you have added the SMS option to your automation, a dialog will pop up to begin the message process.

  2. Select your account.

  3. In the dialog, add your content to the Enter Message field.

  4. Content may be personalized for each contact by clicking the lightning bolt in the bottom right-hand corner of each input box.


Sending MMS

If you would like to include an image or video with your message, follow steps 1 through 8. If

  1. Log in to Tatango

  2. Navigate to My Account -> Attachments

  3. Upload your attachment

  4. Once the file finishes uploading, note the ID of the first file listed. Copy that ID as you will need it when creating the message in ActiveCampaign.

  5. Return to ActiveCampaign

  6. Once you have added the MMS option to your automation, a dialog will pop up to begin the message process.

  7. Select your account.

  8. In the dialog, add in your content.

    1. An optional Subject line may be added.

    2. Add your message in Main Body section.

    3. Fallback Content is also required in case the recipient cannot receive MMS content on their mobile device.

    4. Note: Emojis are not currently supported

  9. Content may be personalized for each contact by clicking the lightning bolt in the bottom right-hand corner of each input box.
