To prevent underage individuals from receiving messages, follow these structured steps and consult with your Customer Success Manager to ensure all compliance requirements are met:

  1. Access Your Lists:

    • Log into your account to view your main list dashboard.

  2. Select the List to Modify:

    • Navigate to the desired list from your dashboard for updates.

  3. Adjust Settings for Age Verification:

    • Click on "Settings" and then choose "Mobile Opt-In."

    • Opt for "Double Opt-In" to activate a two-step verification process.

  4. Set Up Data Collection for Age Confirmation:

    • Proceed to "Data Collection" and select "Birthdate (MM/DD/YYYY)" from "Select the data to collect."

    • Check the "Minimum age requirement?" box and set the age threshold (18+ or 21+).

  5. Customize the Request for Information Message:

    • Modify the request for information message to clearly ask for the necessary birthdate data.

    • Example format: "Tatango: Reply with your birthday (MM/DD/YYYY) to agree to terms for recurring autodialed marketing messages. Terms & conditions: tandcs.us/tcpp. No purchase necessary. Msg & data rates may apply."

  6. Save Changes:

    • Ensure all adjustments are saved properly to activate the age gate.

By following these steps, you will set up an effective age gate that complies with legal requirements, protecting your campaign from reaching underage individuals and ensuring your messaging targets the appropriate audience.
