Smart Fallbacks

Maximize ROI by removing low performing subscribers that only receive SMS fallbacks

Written by Andrew Penchuk

Automatically exclude recent fallback recipients from messages

Use Tatango's Smart Fallback Optimization to automatically exclude subscribers who recently received a fallback message. A fallback happens when a message is delivered in a different format than intended (for example, an MMS that is delivered as an SMS instead).

Fallbacks can occur when a device, carrier, or network can’t support the original message format. While the subscriber still receives a message, sending another message too soon - or to a device likely to fallback - can impact engagement metrics and increase costs.

Smart Fallback Optimization uses Tatango’s delivery intelligence to identify subscribers who recently experienced a fallback or are likely to fallback again before a message is sent.
