Adding parameters to your text message URLs can do more than just track important information - like donations and amount raised - in Google Analytics. There are a number of URL parameters that can be added to Tatango links to pre-fill Luminate Online donation forms fields, help reduce form friction and increase form conversions.

Using Tatango's PowerLinks you can customize your text message link URL to prefill a Luminate Online donation form with each subscriber's personal information.

To use PowerLinks with Luminate Online forms, enter the Luminate Online URL Setters (pulled from this Blackbaud Knowledgebase article) as URL Parameter Keys in the left column of Tatango links as shown below:

After matching the left column to the Tatango URL Parameter Value in the right column and clicking the Shrink button above, your Luminate Online URL with Tatango PowerLinks added would be:

In the above example, we're prefilling the Luminate Online form with the user's first name, last name and email address.

  • You cannot populate Credit Card/Bank Account Number, expiration date, and verification code data elements by URL input. The set.Value (Donation Value) is also excluded by default.

  • To pass Custom fields, the nomenclature is slightly different and uses the Data Element Name (not the field label) with spaces replaced by underscores. For example, the custom data element "Campaign Name" would be appended as follows: &set.custom.Campaign_Name=Hurricane%20Fund

  • The URL arguments are case sensitive.

  • Do not require any fields that you are populating by URL unless you are certain that the value will be available. Otherwise, donors cannot complete the transaction.
