To add subscribers through a website form, you will first need to activate an API key. Once your API key has been activated, you'll need to use this API we provide to make a request to Tatango to add a new subscriber each and every time a customer enters their mobile phone number into one of your website forms.
In this API request, your website will give Tatango both the customer's mobile phone number, and the campaign ID for the campaign in which you'd like them to be subscribed to. Additional information that can be given to Tatango in this API request is the subscriber's first name, email address and even their zip code, but it's not required.
When Tatango receives one of these request to add a new subscriber from your website, we'll send the following message to that phone number. "Reply YES to receive these automated recurring marketing msgs. Consent not required for purchase. Msg&data rates may apply." The customer will then have to respond to the text message they received with the word "YES" or "Y". Once this has been done, that customer will be subscribed to your campaign.
When the customer responds "YES", or "Y", they'll receive the campaign's opt-in message, and any scheduled messages that are set to send to new subscribers.
